Chimera
Item Location: Euphorika Club in Neon, Volii Alpha
Approval Rating: 4/5 Stars
I’ve drunk stranger. I’ve drunk better. But I’ve never drunk anything that made me question my own sanity in three separate flavor stages.
Visually, Chimera is stunning. It's a delicate gradient in a tall, narrow glass. The top is crystal clear and cold, the middle layer is a translucent hue of neon fruit, and the bottom sinks into a rich, opaque darkness. It’s not just a drink. It’s a bit of a dare in a glass.
Let's discuss each layer shall we.
The top layer. Mild cold soju.
Clean, crisp, and almost medicinal. It’s deceptively gentle, lulling the drinker into a false sense of calm.
The middle layer. Fruit liqueur.
A sharp contrast. Sweet and bold, almost candy-like, but with a synthetic twist that reminds you exactly where you are.Neon. It doesn’t blend so much as it collides.
The bottom layer. Dark soju.
Heavy and unrelenting. Stronger than it has any right to be. Earthy undertones and a deep burn leave a lasting impression.
My thoughts overall. Chimera is less of a beverage and more of a psychological event. Each layer has a personality, none of them get along, and you’re simply along for the ride. Myka clearly crafted this for those who enjoy a challenge or a good story.
My rating for Chimera. I give this four out of five stars. It's a bold, unpredictable concoction with serious style points. One star off for emotional whiplash but full marks for ambition. If you’re at Euphorika, try it at least once. Perhaps don’t plan anything important afterward.
